Justice Sector Mentoring Program Launched
Honiara, Tuesday 27 th February 2018 – An innovative mentoring program, pairing successful private sector leaders with emerging leaders in the justice and corrections sector, was launched on Monday 26 February 2018. The mentoring program is a collaborative partnership between the Solomon Islands Government and the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), and is supported by the Australian Government’s Solomon Islands Justice Program. The program, called “People’s Ability to Lead”, provides structured training to selected emerging leaders in the justice sector, and pairs them with private sector mentors. Speaking at the launch, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs (MJLA), Ethel Sigimanu, described how crucial leadership was to the justice sector.
